DSE Workstation assessment

Our most popular method of assessing the risks at a DSE workstation - available face-to-face or remotely via Microsoft Teams.

  • We will discuss any specific discomforts or musculoskeletal problems, as well as any other issues or concerns that the employee may have.

  • We will also discuss their working tasks and routines to gain a picture of a typical working day.

  • If face-to-face, we will then perform an observation of the employee at work to gain an understanding of how they work and their usual habits. During a remote assessment, we will discuss the provided photographs (requested prior to the appointment) to highlight any areas for improvement. Where possible, we will strive to make any improvements at the time of the assessment, always educating the employee.

  • We will also provide a full written report that details any further recommendations should they be necessary.

As an independent assessor, we will recommend the specific features of ergonomic products to target the observed issues and suggest examples of such products for your consideration. If required, we can then advise on where such items could be purchased. Additionally, this level of assessment can complement other medical assessments (for example to be provided to a Physiotherapist to aid their treatment plan).

A remote assessment is helpful when access to site is restricted or quicker action is required. If we feel that a face-to-face assessment is required during the remote assessment (for example to obtain additional anthropometric measurements) we can offer the face-to-face assessment at a discounted rate.

A face-to-face assessment may be more suited to those that require the appointment to explore bespoke equipment, where in-depth measurements may be required. Or, if the workstation cannot be effectively photographed or filmed to highlight the issues present.

DSE Compliant Checklist

DSE Compliant Workstation Assessment

This style of assessment is best suited for employers who wish to conduct a more simplified risk assessment of their employee’s workstation to comply with UK legal requirements. Additionally, this can help to educate the employee on the DSE Regulations.

We will ask a series of questions relating to legislation and provide a completed risk assessment form with any issues highlighted. Please note product recommendations are not provided in this level of assessment.

DSE Workstation Set Up Review

DSE Workstation Set Up Review

This level of assessment is suitable for anyone that wishes to check the suitability of their DSE workstation set up and make improvements where possible, but does not wish for a full report.

Similar to our standard DSE Assessment, however only a short summary report is provided that highlights the issues present.

Thank you Joanne – I’ve already implemented two of the changes you recommended, and am looking forward to doing my work in a whole lot more comfort now!
